Here is a table that shows "typical" outside diameters for both shielded and un-shielded multi-conductor cable. The purpose is to give the designer approximate dimensions to use so that we can recommend the correct collet size. Choosing the correct collet ensures that your finished cable assembly will have an adequate strain relief. Please note these dimensions will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and are also dependant on the outer jacket material. If you have already selected the cable and manufacturer you wish to use, please refer to the manufacturer's specifications for outside diameter information.
